Willie James Baker known to family and others as Pogo, born on December 11,1953 in Pahokee, Florida to the late Dorothy Mae Sames and raised by devoted step-father Willie Sames.

He attended and graduated from Glades Central High School class of 1972.

In that same year (1972) at the young age of 19 he met and later married his soulmate of 49 years Carolyn Johnson of South Bay, Florida.

On August 31, 2021 Willie James Baker entered eternal rest. One brother proceeded him in death, Larry Baker.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Carolyn Johnson Baker (Clewiston, Fla); Daughter: Tiffany Baker-Moreland (Tori) (Clewiston, Fla); Bonus son: Andre Johnson (Antwanique) (South Bay, Fla); Brother: Roger Baker (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla); Grandson: William Thomas Butler, Jr (Clewiston, Fla); Granddaughter: Tachara Tanequa Butler (Clewiston, Fla); Bonus Grandkids: Shundre Weatherspoon, Tittiana Johnson, Andra Johnson, Zonnique Johnson, Andre Johnson Jr.; Great Grandson: Elysian Thomas Butler (Clewiston, Fla); a special niece: Raquel Baker (Orlando, Fla); Two Aunts: Janie Holmes (West Palm Beach, Fla), Alice Weatherspoon (Gainesville, Fla); One Uncle: Robert Lee Baker (Pop); Sister-in-laws: Myrtle Johnson (Clewiston, Fla), Susan Palmer (James Palmer) (South Bay, Fla), Barbara Ann Johnson (South Bay, Fla), Mary Helen Johnson-Gordon (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla); Brother-in-law: Cleveland Johnson (Hattie) (Warner Robins, Ga) and a host of cousins other relatives and extended family.
