On November 2, 2023, at 10:22 pm Viola "Mary" Phillips departed this life to be with the Lord.

Viola Elizabeth Phillips known as "Mary to others was born on September 27, 1949, to the late Evelyn Henry and William E. Kerr in Palm Beach County, Florida. During her late teenage years, she moved to Hartford, Connecticut where she received her diploma from Hartford Public High School. She resided back in Florida in 2012 until she departed this life.

Viola "Mary" had a passion for reading which drove her to read to children in our community, she enjoyed cooking and feeding the world. Viola "Mary" also love spending time with all her family members and helping other surrounded by her. She worked at Travelers Insurance Company as a recruiting specialist for many years until she retired and relocated back to Florida making it her final destination. Viola "Mary" was very blessed to experience the life she lived. She loved reading, playing games on her phone, traveling, going to church, and of enjoyed fishing.

Viola "Mary" leaves to cherish her very precious memories, her beautiful daughter, Ka'Ren Yvette Phillips (Wesley Chapel, FL); her son: Dewayne B. Phillips (Hartford, CT); six grandchildren: Enjolee Y. Phillips, Shatiqua J. Phillips, Tashiqua Q. Williams, Dwayne D. Phillips, Daijanae Phillips; seven great grandchildren; two brothers: Titus Henry, Derrick Henry; four sisters: Gwendolyn Phillips, Wanda Span, Brenda Turner, Brenetta Henry; A very special godson, Malachi Steele, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and surrounding friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Michael A. Phillips, and her brother, Robert Phillips.
