Vincent Lloyd Slater, age 71, departed this life on August 2nd, 2025. Vincent lived a life full of kindness, quiet strength, and deep devotion to family and community. Over the years, he touched many lives—as a neighbor, a loyal friend, and most importantly, a beloved parent and grandparent.

Vincent had a remarkable ability to find joy in the everyday—long talks with his loved ones, who will remember lovingly his laugh and wide smile. He believed in hard work, simple pleasures, and showing up for the people he loved.

Vincent was born in Mullett Hall, Portland Jamaica, the youngest child to Joslyn Slater and Emeline Eugenie Dennis Slater. Vincent is preceded in death by his siblings Hubert Slater, Roy Slater, Joyce Slater, Sunny Slater, Eution MacLarty. He is survived by his siblings Gloria Hall, John McLarty, Ilene Howell, Gervase Slater.

He is survived by his children, Suzette McLarty, Pete-gaye Slater, Timothy Carbert, Charlisa Jordan and Aiden Lewis. His grandchildren Kaiya Johnson , Kristina Jones, Tamara Carbert, Elizabeth Carbert, GreTayvion Dent, Ge'Marion Dent, Timothy Allen, Ayari Cannon and G'ionna Dent. Great-grandchild Mateo Ormbsy. Along with many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Though Vincent may no longer walk beside us, his love and legacy live on in every life he touched.
