To the world he was simply Velta Coleman Sr. to his family and others with intimate ties it was "Scooter"

So, his story unfolds Velta entered this world on April 17, 1954 in Pahokee, Florida as a hand baby boy to Soloman Coleman and Elizabeth Scott. Leaving Pahokee, Florida at an early age, Velta was reared in Lake Wales, Florida by his family. He was educated in Palm Beach and Polk County where he graduated with the class of 1973.

Realizing that only through God all things are possible, he gave his life to Christ at an impressionable age at Bible Church of God under the leadership of the late Bishop Robert Lee Banks Sr. Velta was a hard working individual, he traveled back and forth from Georgia to New York City working in corn. Later, in the years he relocated to Albany, Georgia where he joined Grace Emmanuel Ark of Covenant Worship Center under the pastorship of Bishop McArthur Rouse Jr. whom speaks highly of Velta.

Velta transitioned to everlasting life on November 22, 2021 at Broward Health Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Lorenzo Scott & Isaiah Coleman; sisters, Evang. Phyllis Hopson & Laverne Scott

He leaves unforgettable memories to a loving Son: Velta Coleman Jr. of West Palm Beach, Florida; Five Daughters: Miketa "Keisha" Coleman; Dameka "Meka" Coleman, Jakemia "Liz" Coleman of Pahokee, Florida, Shanteria "Shan" Clark Of Clewiston, Florida, Temekia (Shellie) Levine of Arcadia, Florida; Special Daughter: Tiffany Morrison of Tampa, Florida; Sisters: Glennie (Jeral) Roberson of Pahokee, Florida, Lovely (Earnest) Henry of West Palm Beach, Florida; Brother: Philip (Dora) Scott of Lake Wales, Florida; Aunts: Deloris "Cal" (Logan) Golis & Ruby Bouie of Pahokee, Florida; Brother-In-Law: Clarence "Peanut" Hopson of Pahokee, Florida; Eighteen Grandkids; Zachary, Ashley, Nekeia, Jonkeche, Darnesha, Anthony, Velt, Le'Ajiah, Coamarion, Denaris, Cayden, Bianca, Shania, Timothy, TimNequa, LeOndra, Shellie III & She'Niah; Five Great Grandkids: Zariah, Ashton, A'Dream, Anthony Jr. "AJ" & Timothy III; Special Close Nephew: Leon Noah & a host of Nieces, Nephews & Other Relatives.
