Tom's parents relocated from Elba, Alabama to Okeechobee Center (The Project) in Belle Glade, Florida. He was employed for many years as a Farm Harvester Contractor for Gressinger and Son. Tom also worked from the East Coast to the West doing what he loved, driving trucks. He had 3 brothers, Harvey, John, and Ruby D. Roy; one sister, Ollie B. Beamon of Belle Glade, Florida.

He departed his life journey on December 3, 2017 at Lakeside Medical Center surrounded by his children and love ones. Tom lived a long and happy life. He is preceded in death by his 2 daughters, Barbarah Roy and Debra Pouncey of Belle Glade, FL.

He leaves to mourn, his children: Tommy Gaines Roy (Dwan) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Dorcilla Smith Roy (Nathaniel) of Pahokee, FL, Tiffany A. Roy of West Palm Beach, FL, Amanda, Samantha, Jeanette, Jennie, and the Jean Family; two loving nieces: Loretta Gaines, Jaunita Lawrence of Belle Glade, FL; My Little Troops: Dion P., Destiny J., Daniel J., all of my 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
