Thelma Jean Lane Daffin
On August 19, 1961 Thelma Jean Lane/Daffin was born to Ruth Lane and David Ford in Cordele, Ga (Crisp County). Thelma was raised in Cordele Ga by her grandmother Bessie Mae Wellons and her Great Grandmother Eliza Jane Wellons. Thelma attended the local schools in Cordele and along with her grandparents attended various churches in the community. In the early 1980s, Thelma married Joseph Daffin in Cordele Ga (until his passing) and moved to Belle Glade Florida to start her own family.
During her adult life, Thelma was the life of the party and frequently visited her favorite party spot The American Legion or The Legion. Thelma was a dancing machine. But her Greatest Joy came from her Grand children and Great-Grandchildren whom she Adored.
On Thursday February 26, 2026, our beloved and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend slipped quietly away while a patient at the Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach Florida. Memories of her life will be cherished by her loving and devoted children Mrs. Glenda Jean Daffin-Williams (Fredrick) West Palm Beach Florida, Ms. LaShawn Daffin Miami, Florida and Ms. Katrina Daffin Boynton Beach Florida. Her adored grandchildren Mr. Keshawd Hamilton, Ms Jy'Brya Jones, Ms Ke'nya Hodges, Ms Danorria Balkcom, Ms Samirah King, Mr. Semaj Williamson, Mr. Kelvon Daffin, Mr. Quinton Daffin, Mr. Kevin Daffin, Ms. Nikylah Daffin, and Ms. Jameia Bates. Her adored Great-Grandkids A'Kari Lockhart, Ke'Yahni Hodges and Ke'Nya Hodges.
Her loving companion Mr. Charles Grey of Belle Glade Florida. Her loving sisters Mrs. Donna Burgess (Allan) Winston-Salem NC, Mrs. Debra Lane (Chandra), & Edwina Lane all of El Paso Texas, Ms. Vivian Ford of Rochester NY; beloved brothers Mr. Chris Brooks Cordele, Ga Mr. Carlton Ford, and Mr. David Ford Jr.
Other survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many sorrowing friends to include her special cousins; Faye Ford and Gaye Ford of Cordele, Ga; children of Mrs. Ida Belle Patrick, Children of Mr. & Mrs. William Wellons.
