Steve Jackson was born September 23, 1956 to the late Ledora Jackson and James Jackson Sr. in Lake Harbor, Florida. He was the third of six siblings. At a very young age, he joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Aaron Drayton.

Starting his educational life, Steve attended several schools under the Palm Beach County School district. And as a young man, he would work at several agricultural sites such as Hundley Farms in Belle Glade, Florida and Okeelanta Sugar Mill in South Bay, Florida. He would later work a number of seasons at J&J Farms in Clewiston, Florida, where he retired three years ago.

On Sunday, December 19, 2021, late in the evening hours, God called Steve home. Steve leaves his loving family to mourn his passing, but who are so grateful for all the fond memories that he leaves behind, beginning with his five (5) brothers: James Jackson Jr., Belle Glade, FL; Clarence Jackson Sr., Boynton Beach, FL; Robbie Pierce, Orlando, FL; Elder Charles Sledge (Bridgitte), South Bay, FL; Terry Sledge, Sr., Ludowici, GA; and a devoted sister: Betty Ciggs, Lake Harbor, Florida.

Preceding him in death are his Parents: Ledora and James Jackson, Sr.; Grandparents: Nelson and Mamie Pierce; Aunts: Lenora Latty, Edna Browning, and Mary Frances Pierce; a Nephew, Tyler Sledge; Uncles: Jeffery Browning, Frederick Browning, Robert Lee Pierce, and Willie C. Pierce.

However, through all of this loss, Steve has planted seeds of love, lots of laughter and amazing memories that will be forever cherished by the remaining loves of his life; Uncles: Otis Browning (Laverne), Lorenzo Browning (Cressida), and Trevor Latty (Mamie). Aunts: Sylvia James, and Snowie Pierce. Nieces: Khierra Ciggs-Hooker (Julian), Jacqueline Jackson, Shemeka Jackson, Jada Lovely, Robrielle Pierce, Zana Sledge, Charkita Sledge, Sicoya Sledge, Brooke Hooker, Shaquwanza Sledge, De'Reya Saunders, and Consuelo Johnson; Nephews: Brian Murphy (Mia), Clarence Jackson, Jr., Jonathan Jackson, Charkevious Sledge, Charles Sledge, IV, Javion Anderson, Jermaine Lovely, Jr., Terry Sledge Jr., Jeremie Sledge (Bree), A'Donnis Murray, and Josheua Murray; Cousins: Glenn Collier (Mary Alice), Nakia Collier, Maurice Collier, Glennesha Collier, Glen Collier Jr., Betty Ann Catholic, Consuela Catholic, Annette Johnson, Jennifer Ford, the Jarrell Family (South Bay), and with special love to Alexia "Lexie" Gonzalez; A Special Loving Aunt: Mary Lee Ford, and a host of other loving Family, Friends, and Acquaintances.
