Sonya "Shug" Latrice Starling was born to the late Lillie Mae Starling and the late Ossie
Washington Sr on October 4th, 1972 at Everglades Memorial Hospital in Pahokee Florida.
Shug is preceded in death by her parents Lillie Mae Starling and Ossie Washington Sr and her
sisters Barbara Key, Shanda Laws and brother Willie C Fleming Jr.
Shug enjoyed working in the medical field in various positions from ER Registration to Medical
Billing and Coding. She was employed at Total MD as a Medical Front Desk Receptionist.
She was educated through the Palm Beach County School system and continued her education at
Florida Career College.
She was also an active member of the community where she helped in various outreach services.
When she was not serving her community or working, Shug was with the Muck City Riderz
where she was their First Lady and Treasure. She enjoyed socializing with other bikers and
friends at the Flower Shop. She also enjoyed traveling across South Florida and the Southern
United States supporting different motorcycle clubs.
Shug was also an amazing mother, wife, friend, and a phenomenal cook. She was an intelligent,
compassionate, inspirational, and resilient woman who touched everyone she came across. She
will truly be missed.
She is survived by her beloved husband Louis Desamour, her children Eugenia "Gina" Lawson,
Travis Gary both of Palm Beach, Fl. Dontavious Gary and Za'Netta Starling both of Belle Glade,
FL. She is also survived by her stepchildren Lou'Keria Desamour of Palm Beach,FL, Anthony
Gorsuch of SC, and Lou'Quandria Desamour Of Tampa, Fl. Grandchildren Jaiden Lawson,
Jordan Lawson, Dontavious Gary Jr, and Peyton Oliver. She also leaves behind her Brothers:
Roger Washington, Kalvin Washington both of Fort Valley, GA, Ossie Washington Jr (Mary),
Jeffery Washington (Jackie) both of Okeechobee, Fl, Javaris Washington Sr (Angel), and Kevin
Laws both of Belle Glade, Fl. Sisters: Tashel Washington (Terry), Kathy WashingtonJohnson(Terrel)
both of Fort Valley, GA, Iris Jackson (Nathaniel) of Belle Glade, Carolyn A.
Brown of Jacksonville, Fl, Gennise Fleming, Dorothy Williamson (David), and Pamela Jenkins
(Willie) all of Pahokee, Fl, and a host of aunts, uncles, In laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, family and friends.
