A Time To Be Born:

Shirley Marie Campbell was born on July 22nd of 1954 at Jubilee Hospital, Kingston Jamaica to the late Ricardo Campbell and survived by her birth mother Gloria Thomas. She was born the 2nd of 7 siblings. At birth it was discovered that Shirley was born with a condition causing her to be developmentally delayed. Her mental capacity was that of a child of five years old. She remained a child a heart throughout all her beloved years.

Shirly attended Greenwich Farm Primary School in her childhood years, but did not proceed educational contingency due to her mental capacity. Shirley remained a residence of the Greenwich Village until she migrated to the United States in 1988.

A Time To Love:

In the Summer of 1989, a short visit ended up becoming a new home for Miss Shirley. Mrs. Pam noticed the sweet heart of Shirley and how she blended with the other surrounding kids. Her Smiled captivated Pam, and Shirley likewise did not want to leave this new feeling of being surrounded by family and love. Mrs. Pamella Mays adopted Shirley into the family and became the mother whom she would spend the rest of her life with. She remained in her care for thirty-six years.

Shirly affectionally referred to Mrs. Pam as "Mummy" and she became the light of Shirley's life. Mummy also regarded Shirley as her "Big Baby". Shirley became an active member of ARC, where she learned to write her name, sew, and other homemaking skills. Shirley enjoyed doing small household chores, dancing, family, and friends.  At family gatherings she was the life of the party. Dancing was her specialty.

A Time to Mourn:

Shirley leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, hope, and joy beautifully exemplified in her devotion to her family.  Shirley is survived by her Adoptive Mother Pamella Mays, siblings Tayva (Artis) Hardwick, Pauline Chunnu, Maxine (Gifford) Paul, Jason Mays, Natasha (John) Wesson, Dwight (Vanessa) Hoffenden, Nadine (Edward) Popivich, Eric Campbell senior. Her Late Brother George "Chilly" Hoffenden. Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and a host of other family and friends.
