Obituary

Shirley Brown Harris was born August 19, 1954 in Belle Glade, Florida to the late Jessie James Brown and Willie Jewel Brown who preceded her in death.

She attended and graduated from Glades Central Community High School, with the class of 1972. She continued her education at Florida Atlantic University in which she received her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education. She became an Educator for the Palm Beach School District for thirty six years (36). Once retired, she continued to teach for the Excel Charter School in Belle Glade, Florida. Teaching was her Passion. She was a fine member of an organization, Sorrority of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. Shirley was a member of Mt. Zion AME church. She will greatly be missed by her loving students, family, friends, sisterhood, and her community.

She leaves to morn her daughter, Yolandra DaShawn Brown; Son, Ethan Eugene Harris, Jr.; Godson, Leon Williams (4) Grandchildren; Kelvin Aundray Darrisaw Jr., Antwon Rashard Chisholm, Antwonique Tanisha Chisholm, and Tatiyana Yvonne Harris, (3) Great Grandchildren, Kelvin Aundray Darrisaw Jr., Khylea Ariiah Darrisaw, and Jacori Keyshawn Darrisaw; Sisters, Mary Ann Malone, Geraldine Jenkins (Harrison), Clara Brown-Hessing (Hastings), Renee Brown Porter (Herbert), Linda Barthell (Fred), Jessie Lena Brown (Dewayne), Rachel Brown (Eugene), and Carrie Brown who preceded her in death. (2) Brothers, Michael Brown, Leonard Brown (Jennifer), and Willie Lee Brown (4) brothers who preceded her in death Jimmy Lee Brown, Archie Allen, Larry Brown, and Jessie Lee Brown; Godsisters, Debra Harris and Henrietta Burke, Lisa Bentley; Godbrother, Anthony Kirkland (Andrea), Lester Kirkland (Annette), Willie Joe Hammond and a host of nieces and nephews
