Sheryl Larvetta Carter was born on May 16, 1963, to the late Lucius and Janet B. Carter. She was proceeded in death by her brother Alphonso Carter Sr. and two god-children, Andrew Holmes and Clewonda Austin.

Sheryl received her formal education through the Palm Beach County School District. She was a 1981 graduate of Glade Central Community High School. Sheryl continued her education at Palm Beach Community College and began working for Sears Roebuck Company in catalog sales. She pursued her career goals by working at the Palm Beach County School District for 10 years and Palm Beach County Sheriff Department for 19 years upon her retirement.

Sheryl enjoyed giving through food, talking on the phone, spending time with her grandkids and everything in purple (her favorite color).

Sheryl leaves to cherish her memories her children, Sha'Qwonda (Cleveland) Millis and JaQuavious (Felicia) Leggett of Belle Glade, FL; one brother: Stephon (Casoray) Carter of Royal Palm Beach, FL; one sister: Valorie Miller of Long Island, NY; nine god-children: Stacy, Bonique, James, E'Darius, Dewayne, Javen, Dexter, Deonjae, Willie; four grandchildren: Khamari, Khloe, Jace, Clayton; five nephews: Alphonzo Jr., Ja'Won, Stephon, Altavious (Jasmine), Terrance; three nieces: Zena, Stephon-Janae, Khiarra; four aunts: Barbara Freeman, Mary-Louise Jones, Mary Freeman, Elizabeth Reed; one uncle: Emory (Verna) Griffin; bonus daughter: Chikiis Barnes; special friends: Renee (Andrew) Holmes, Cynthia Harrell-Baker, Connie Demontagnac, Brenda Smith; loving cousins: Melinda Rainy, Renee Griffin; her prayer warrior: Valarie Stinson-Carter; devoted caregiver: Dennis Mclean and a host of other relatives and friends.
