Shawanda Larean Washington Scruggs was born November 14, 1977 to Robbie Etta Jones and Earnest Jenkins.

Shawanda affectionately known as "Pooh" was reared in the Harlem Community of Clewiston, Florida. She was formally educated in the Hendry County School District. Pooh graduated from Clewiston High School with the class of 1996. Shawanda's work history includes Florida Department of Corrections and The Department of Children and Families. She was employed with the Hendry County School Board at Labelle Middle School until her demise.

In 2005 Shawanda United in Holy Matrimony with the love of her life Curtis L. Scruggs. This union blessed Shawanda and Curtis with two sons, Curtis Jr. and Daniel. She was a loving, devoted wife and mother.

On Monday February 1, 2021 Shawanda Larean Scruggs entered eternal rest.
