Rutha Mae Smith affectionately known as "Dyway" was born in Madison, Florida November 24, 1946 to Robert Lee Oliver Sr and Marie Bell Oliver. The family soon moved to Pahokee Florida, where she grew and blossomed into a beautiful young woman. Educated in the local schools where she would complete studies at Eastlake High School. By the time she reached 18 years old she married Arlon Gray Sr. of this union four children were born. Dyway would go on and birth two more children, becoming a mother of six.

Dyway worked many seasons as a field worker, even bringing the kids along until eventually becoming a full-time stay at home mom. It was a well known consensus that Dyway had the mentality of Lioness regarding her children. Her love for them was wholesome and pure, in turn her children adored and loved her immensely. Even as they matured into adulthood, Dyway remained the refuge, confidant and advisor in their lives.

On the early morning of March 18, 2021 God said unto her my daughter job well done and called her home. She's preceded in death by both parents. She sat on the family throne, where everyone was enlightened by her presence.More than just mom, she was granny, friend, and so much more.From her delicious meals, to knowing you had someone thinking of you through any occasions with greeting cards.

For being everyone number one fan and biggest cheerleader she will be missed. She may be gone from this space, but she will be an everlasting presence in our hearts and minds for all time.
