Roy Lee Adams, Sr., son of the late Burley and Corine Adams, was born on September 24, 1948 in Orangeburg County, SC. On Monday, May 10, 2021 in Belle Glade, FL, he was called home to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his daughter Falneshia.
At an early age, Roy attended Union A.M.E. Church in Elloree, South Carolina. Roy was employed as a truck driver for over 40 years at various jobs throughout Palm Beach County, namely in the agriculture industry. He retired from U.S. Sugar and Sugar Cane Growers.
He was a graduate of Elloree Training School in Elloree, South Carolina. Shortly after, he served our country proudly in Vietnam in the U.S. Army.
He leaves to cherish his memory Two sons: Roy Lee {Tasha} Adams, Jr. of Mobile, AL and Corey F. Benbow of Austin, TX; Four daughters: Roneshia La'Nae' Adams of Austin, TX; Santana (Teron) Benbow Gray of Maryland, Shani (Claudy) Nicolas and Sonya Robinson of Philadelphia, PA; One brother: Burley (Mary) Adams, Jr. of Belle Glade, FL; 7 sisters: Louise Gary and Dorothy Adams Hammond of Belle Glade, FL, Rosetta Elmontis of Orlando, FL, Julia (Curtis) Randolph and Betty (Bernard) Anderson of Orangeburg, SC, Cynthia Garrett of Greenville, SC and Yanniqua Adams of Elloree, SC. One Aunt Mildred Sweat of Elloree, SC. Roy also leaves 21 Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grand nieces, great-grand nephews.
