Rose Mary Pitts Sampson was born on October 19, 1956 in Pahokee, Florida to the late Annie Kate P. Moody and Fletcher Pitts Sr.
Rose received her education in Palm Beach County school system where she attended
East Lake School and Pahokee High School. After high school she continued her studies
in Health Care services. She was later employed in Palm Beach County as a Health Care
worker and Certified Medical Assistant for over 30 years.
Rose was joined in Holy matrimony to the love of her life, Mr. Joe B. Sampson Jr., in
1985. They were married for 33 wonderful years. During her marriage she was
introduced to and received Christ as her personal savior at South Bay Church of God
where she was a faithful member for over 30 years. She was known as a "Woman of God
who wore many hats". She was a dedicated member of the Usher Board where she
served as treasurer for many years, served as secretary for the Adult Sunday school and
volunteered many hours helping to serve in the church's culinary ministry.
She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Rose enjoyed
spending time with her family, reading the Bible with her husband Joe and helping to
serve in the Church's kitchen during various services.
Rose was called to eternal rest on Sunday, April 7,2019. She will be missed by all who
knew her. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Fletcher L. Pitts Jr.
and Robert L. Hoskins, three sisters, Lydia Diane Pitts, Delores Pitts-Bynes and Mary
Hoskins.
Rose leaves to her memory her loving Husband Mr. Joe B. Sampson Jr.; Three
children, Clarence Ramon Pitts, Tyler TX, Joseph Bernard Sampson and Chandra
Denise Sampson, both of Pahokee, FL; Three brothers, Jessie (Cynthia) Pitts, Pahokee,
FL, Major W. Hoskins, Fort Lauderdale and Willie Hoskins, Kalamazoo, MI; five
sisters, Rosie (George) Warren, Belle Glade, Fl., Dorothy (Carey) Peavy, West Palm
Beach, FL, Laura (Zedrick) Barber, Riviera Beach, FL, Valerie Hoskins-Young, Pahokee,
FL, and Jean Hoskins of Kalamazoo, MI; Two Brother in-laws, Chris (Tarronish)
Sampson, West Palm Beach, FL. and Juran (Felicia) Sampson of Jacksonville, FL; Three
sisters- in laws, Beatrice (Charlie) Silvers, West Palm Beach, FL, Betty Bush of
Brunswick, GA and Louise (Earnest) Durham of South Bay, FL and a host of Nephews,
Nieces, family and special friends.
