Ronald Keith Windley, affectionally known as Jabari, was born on February 9, 1956, to the late John Ellison Thomas Windley and the late Mizella Tate Windley. From the very beginning, he was a beacon of love, wisdom and strength. Raised in Clewiston, Florida. Ronald was surrounded by a close-knit family, including his beloved siblings Teri and Adrian. They shared in the joys and challenges of childhood and life with him.
As he grew, Ronald's natural curiosity and compassion guided him to become more than just a man-- he became a United States soldier, a father, a grandfather and mentor who touched countless lives. His ability to connect with others and inspire them to reach their full potential was a hallmark of his character and he dedicated his life to nurturing those around him.
As a father, Ronald was unwavering in his love and support for his children, Octavia, Bakari, and Ronald Jr. They were the center of his world, and he took immense pride in raising them with the same values that defined his own life. His guidance and wisdom will continue to shape their lives for years to come.
Ronald was also a cherished uncle and cousin, the glue that held his family together. His warmth, generosity, and open heart made him a beloved figure amongst his relatives, who always turned to him for advice and comfort.
In his professional life, Ronald was respected for his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic. He inspired everyone around him through his actions and steadfast commitment to doing his best.
On August 28, 2024, Ronald Keith Windley Sr. departed this earth, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom and strength. He is survived by his children, Octavia Windley-Walker, Bakari Windley, and Ronald Windley Jr.; his grandchildren Octavia Walker, Sarah Walker, Ronald Windley III, Yahziyah Windley, Yeremayah Windley, Hazayah Windley, Ariyal Windley, Shiloh Windley, Larkin Walker and Skye Windley; his son-in-law Larkin Walker; and siblings Teri Watts and Adrian Windley, along with a wide circle of extended family and special friends whom will forever cherish his memory.
Though his journey has ended, Ronald's impact will live on in the hearts and lives of all who knew him. Rest in Power Jabari-- you will NEVER be forgotten.
