Roberta Golden was born on September 11, 1952, to the late Beatrice Burgess and Charles Williams in New York City. She resided in Belle Glade, Florida, where she spent most of her childhood and adulthood.

Roberta was educated in the Palm Beach County School System in Belle Glade, Florida. She worked in the agricultural industry until the early 1990s.

She was a dedicated mother who treasured her children and embraced every moment she shared with them, as well as the children of others.

Roberta's compassion for others will never be forgotten. She had a mannerism about her that touched the lives of everyone she met.

Roberta leaves lasting memories with her two daughters: Janice (Kenelia) Collins and Sharon (Harry) Salter; her ten grandchildren: Janettiea (Osborne) Walker, Harrisha Salter, Shantoria Salter, Jaamal Frazier, Donnisha Thomas, Jahnesha Mcleod, Harry Salter, Terrance Salter, Akeeno Mcleod, and Javares Willingham; her twenty-one great grandchildren. Roberta also leaves four sisters: Rebecca (George) Lawrence of Belle Glade, FL, Gail Ellis of Sanford, FL, Bridgette (Lionel) Wells of Clermont, FL, April (Leon) McLean of Sanford, FL and one special sister Linda Smith. One brother: Williams Ellis of Sanford, FL and sister-in-law Samella (Edward) Rivers (deceased). Special nieces: Tarsha Graham, Garquette Cumberbatch, Marion Oliver, Angela Livingston, Tameka Ware, Yolanda and Tanika Rivers. Special nephews: Wilfred and Alvis Demezier, Alfonco Britton, David Brooton and Bentley River. Two godsons: Nathaniel Smith and Aaron (Peanut) Rowley. Lastly, a special friend William and a host of loving relatives and friends.
