Robert Lee "Shag" Henderson, Sr., son of the late Walter and Ruby Henderson was born August 15, 1953 in Canton, OH.
Robert came to Belle Glade at an early age, returning to Americus, GA where he attended Sumter High School and graduated with the "Class of 1972". Robert proudly served in the military from April of 1973 until May of 1975, after which he became a self- employed metal scrap collector.
On February 4, 2018 the Lord called him home to eternal rest. May his soul find peace, favor and acceptance with his maker and indeed may his good works live on.
Cherishing his memory is his children: Robert (Truck) Henderson (deceased), Stephanie (Vernon)Padgett, Seven Henderson, Three Henderson, Robert Henderson, Jr., Noel Henderson and Taylor April; Five sisters: Ida Mae (Arthur) Butts, Mary "Wibbie" Carrigan (deceased); Ruby Finley, Mary Jackson, Laverine Graham; Two Brother: Walter Henderson, Jr.(deceased), Charles Henderson (deceased); Uncles: Henry (Lucy)Thomas, Leonard Henderson, Curtis Henderson, Lewis (Louise) Henderson (deceased), Charles (Bernice) Henderson, Leroy (Angela) Henderson; Aunt: Mary (Sam) Furlow; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
