Robert Louis Dowdell, Sr.
Alpha: October 25, 1960 – Omega: February 19, 2016

To everything is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; a time to be born, a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted.

Robert Louis Dowdell was born the fifth child to Inez Bailey and the late Albert Dowdell, Sr. on October 25, 1960 in Belle Glade, Florida. Louis was educated in the school system of Palm Beach County graduating in 1978 from Glades Central Community High School.


At an early age Louis joined Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he was baptized under the pastoral leadership of the late Rev. Leonard Camel.


Robert was joined in Holy Matrimony to Robyn Adams in 1983, and to this union three sons were born.


On February 19, 2016 the Lord needed a bridge built. To help build this bridge He looked down on his flock and decided Louis was the best bridge builder there was and at 9:15 am He called Louis home. Now Louis is resting in his Father's arm.


He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 32 years Robyn; three sons, Robert Louis Dowdell, Jr., Demetrius Dowdell (deceased) and Artavious Dowdell; his mother, Inez Dowdell of Belle Glade, FL; one brother Albert (Marjorie) Dowdell, Jr of Belle Glade, FL; three sisters Marie Joyce (Robert) of West Palm Beach, FL, Carolyn Dowdell and Joyce Marie (Lindon) Jerningan both of Belle Glade, FL; three sister-in-laws Tracey (Jeffery) Godfrey and Rita Adams both of West Palm Beach, FL; Joyce Corley of Vero Beach, FL; one brother-in-law Wilbert (Andrea) Adams III of California; special family members Latonia (Arnold) Jackson, Francine (Selestre) Novembre, Ann (James) Mims. Preceding him in death was Tommy Lee Dowdell, Jackie Dowdell and Sharon Dowdell; a very special boss and true friend, Jovan Zepcevski, whom he worked for 36 years until his untimely death and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
