On January 23, 1931, the Lord blessed the late David Hylton and Mabel Trew with a handsome baby boy,
Osmond Edwards (Hylton) in Manchester, Jamaica. His parents preceded him in death. He was affectionately
known as Deacon Edwards or Deac. On January 17, 2022, Deacon Edwards transitioned into the presence of
the Lord, where he longed to be.

He attended primary and secondary schools in Manchester, Jamaica. He further his education by becoming a
tailor; additionally, he studied music and became an avid pianist. Because he took great pleasure in helping;
he utilized his talents to help his church, family, neighbors and close friends. Osmond gave his life to Christ at
an early, where he served and worship the Anglican church in Manchester, Jamaica.

Later he discovered that he wanted to explore his options, so he relocated to USA in pursuit of a better life.
Migrating to Pahokee, Florida his love and commitment for God grew stronger. Shortly after his arrival, he met
and married Gladys Miller on February 14, 1960, to this union five (5) children were born.

If his children had to describe their dad, they would say that he was a renaissance man. He was a jack of all
trades. He worked as a farm laborer on the orange groves, a custodian at the Palm Beach County School
District, US Sugar Mill and later, he became an entrepreneur in the area of retail.

He joined the Pahokee Church of God where he served faithfully under the leadership of several pastors to
include the late, Bishop Bud Mickens. His devotion led to serve in many capacities, which included, but not
limited to: Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Church Maintenance worker, Musician and
Deacon. He wanted to leave a legacy for his children, so he taught them the ways of the Lord. He also taught
his children how to read music and play the piano. Verna continued the legacy and became a musician.

Because of the growth of the church (the old Pahokee Church of God), and the vision of its leaders (at that
time), the church, following the leading of the Holy Spirit, set forth to build a new church. Deacon Edwards
accepted God's will and worked along with the vision. He and the other faithful men in the church worked
tirelessly until the completion of the new Pahokee Church of God. (We are sitting in it right now). He was so
dedicated to this assignment that, at times, he would bring his son, Osmond, Jr to assist with the work.

Deacon Edwards attended church faithfully until his health took a turn. However, he would attend church with
his daughter, Verna, when it was possible. Although, he may not have attended church regularly, like he used
to, he knew that he was the church. He took every opportunity to talk about the Lord. He maintained a
committed relationship with the Lord. He was always ready to give an answer to the hope that was in him. His
favorite times were talking about the Lord or listening to conversations that involved the Lord.

Deacon Edwards was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gladys and son, Glenton. He had 5 siblings who also
preceded him in death: Ronald, Llewellyn, Peter, Owen, Dalton, and Vilma Hylton all of Jamaica.

He leaves to forever cherish fond memories his Children: Osmond, Jr (Sandy), Verna Kinglocke (John), Donald
(Sandra), Deloris Polk (Ozell), and daughter-in-law, Stacy. Grandchildren: Onzikka (Shawn), Octavius (Sasha),
Orlandrea, Shelteria, Johnnie (Felica) ,Vennetrice, Johnkerria, Jalisa, Donald, Jr., Tajtianna, Glenton, Jr and
Gillian; Great-grand Children: Tamarrick Shawnteria, Shawnkeria,Octavius, Jr., King, Jaddyana, Jamal, Ariyah,
Micaiah, Aliana, Jaxson and Raelyn; Sisters: Beverly Wright (Pahokee, FL) and Elaine Hylton (Port St. Lucie, FL);
Brother: Hainsley Hylton (Ghiflaine) of Mableton, GA; Sister-in-law: Azlene Murvin (Pahokee, FL); God-
children: Linwood Johnson, Kentavious Jones and Jefferia Smith; Adopted daughter, Patricia Booth (Carl); a
host of nieces and nephews, close friends to include Deacon Kenfield and Sister Rosa Riley, Mother Jewel
Morris and Family and the entire Pahokee Church of God family.
