Life story


Nathaniel was born October 31, 1964 in Clewiston, Florida to the late Luella and Emanuel Simpson Sr. Nate was a proud product of the Glades, and grew up in Miami Locks (Lake Harbor), He attended Lake Harbor Elementary, Lake Shore Middle, and graduated with the Glades Central High School class of 1982. After High School he studied at Tampa Technical Institute, and briefly served in the U.S. Army before realizing it wasn't his calling.

For many years Nate worked as a truck driver. When his daughter Shaniya, and son Nathaniel Jr. needed him most he became a single parent, and full time caregiver for Nathaniel Jr. He was a dedicated and loving father to his children. He was especially attentive and dedicated to Nathaniel Jr. who was born with special needs.

Nate was an avid reader, a history buff, and well versed in countless subjects. If he wasn't at the public library, he was at home with a book in hand, always eager to stay current on world events. He was kind, compassionate, and generous,

He leaves to cherish his memory: Stepmother, Virginia Simpson , daughters, Shaniya and Nawanda Simpson, Son, Nathaniel Simpson Jr..and Grandsons Shayden Price, and Zermaj Hooper.

He is also survived by his siblings, Ada Willingham, Bessie McGrew, Marie Raphael (Anthony), Anne Smiley, Bernice Simpson, Patrick Simpson (Bonita) Mitchell Simpson, Clifford Simpson (Elaine), Percy Andrews (Edna) Sister in Law, Judy Simpson a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
