Nathaniel Butts' Obituary

His Life, His Legacy, His Story

Nathaniel "Snooty" Butts was born on August 2, 1944 in Cordele, Georgia. He was the eldest of nine children to the late Mr. Jimmy and Mrs. Vollics Butts. He grew up in Belle Glade, Florida where he attended the public school system. Nathaniel married the love of his life, Daisy on January 31st. The two were blessed with four sons and two daughters. Nathaniel worked for US Sugar for over 30 years and at Gove Elementary for almost 5 years. His hobbies included cutting grass, being in the yard, fishing, and spending time at the park with his grandchildren. He simply loved and enjoyed his children and family.

On November 23, 2022, at Saint Mary's Hospital at approximately 6:50 pm, an angel arrived in room 401 to escort a husband, father and grandfather to be with Jesus Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Jimmy and Mrs. Vollics Butts; brothers: Jimmy "Tiny" Butts, Jr., Theotis "Skimp" Butts, Robert "Bay" Butts; his brother-in-law: James Crittenden; and goddaughter: LaTonya Winters.

Cherishing his memory is his wife of almost 50 years, Mrs. Daisy Crittenden Butts; his sons: William Butts Clark, Warren Butts (Tiffany M.), Nathaniel "Dee" Butts (Tameka), and Sherrick Butts (Jennifer); daughters: Gwendolyn Simpson (Johnny), Tywanda Gillyard (Jimmy); special adopted daughters: Leola Horton and Dr. Earlean McLemore-Golphin (Cedrick); (5) brothers: Arthur Butts (Ida Mae), Louis James Butts of Belle Glade, FL. Melvin Butts Sr. (Sylvia) of Ocala, FL., Anthony Butts of Wellington, FL.; (1) sister: Linda Butts; (7) Sister-in-Laws: Cynthia Butts of West Palm Beach, Ruadean Butts of Belle Glade, FL, Shirley Butts of South Bay, FL. Mary Wright of Pahokee, FL, Milta Kyles and Irene (Charlie) West of Belle Glade, FL, Celia Page (Daniel) of Sebring, FL. (5) brother-in-laws: Melton (Gwendolyn) Crittenden of West Palm Beach, FL, Willie (Suzette) Holt of Glen Allen, Virginia, David (Patricia) Nixon of Newnan, GA, George (Fabian) Crittenden of Belle Glade, FL, Freddie (Beverly) Crittenden of Augusta, GA. Special nephews, Drexler "Boy" Wooten Butts, Dwayne Dennard and Jessie F. Pourch; grandchildren: William Jr, Renako Sr., Roshonda, Warnshara, Monique, Joshua, Benny, Kaydee, Sierra, Travetta, Jimetrius, Jaaliyah, James, Caitlyn, Marcus, Shane, Johnny, Savon.; great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Three goddaughters-Leona Camel-Clinton, Lavinia Peterson and Tavares Myrick. and one godson-David Jackson. Extended family: Claudia Clark, Bertell Williams and Carolyn Reeve.
