Obituary
On December 29, 1933, Zakie and Nellie Hooper (who proceeded him in death) celebrated the birth of their second child and named him Maxie Hooper. Maxie was born in the District of Moreland Hill, Westmoreland, Jamaica where he grew up and attended Moreland Hill School. Maxie began traveling to the United States as a young man to work in agriculture. Maxie had two brothers who proceeded him in death Clifton Late of Northampton, England and Neville Late of Kingston Jamaica.
Maxie leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his; wife of 34 years Jacquelyne L. Hooper of South Bay, Florida, one brother Roy Hooper of Westmoreland Jamaica, six sons: Dennis Hooper of Mississippi, Stafford Hooper of Westmoreland Jamaica; Burton Hooper of South Bay, Florida, Calvin Devol of Orlando, Florida, Zertavious Hooper of West Palm Beach, Florida. Four daughters: Faith Douglas (Ronald) of Bristol England, Albreth Hooper of Northwood, England, Maxine Hooper of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Makayla Hooper of South Bay, Florida. A wonderful mother-in-law Martha Harvey of Wellington, Florida, one brother-in-law, Ricky Harvey of South Bay, Florida, five sister-in-laws; Pamela Harvey and Sonyette Harvey both of Belle Glade, Florida, Cynthia Harvey, of Boynton Beach, Florida, Shelia Harvey-Lawrence (Gerald) of Wellington, Florida, and Lachante Harvey of Wellington, Florida.
Maxie also leave 23 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends to include Willie Bethea, Derrick Thaddies and Happy Dillon.
