Mary was born in Albany, Georgia on December 21, 1931 to Troupe Owens Jr. and Lillie Scott Owens (both deceased).

Mary was an only child, known as "Flee" to family and friends. At an early age her dad moved to the family to Florida. She was raised as a child of God by her mother that was very religious. They were Christians that loved the Lord. Mary was raised in Bryant, Florida. Sister Mary was blessed with six children that she raised to love the Lord. She was a devoted member at New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Usher.

Mary worked for Palm Beach County School District for 29 years as a Food Service Worker at Pahokee Jr./Sr. High School, and as a manager at Lake Shore Middle School.

Sister Mary met Ambers Murph as a young lady and had two daughters Betty and Sylvia Murph. Later she married the late George Kinsler Jr. three sons was born to this union George III, Anthony (deceased), and Tony Kinsler. Mary had her baby girl Lillie Owens, with Ambers Murph.

On April 27, 2021, God took Mary home, Mary departed this life with a good report.
