Obituary

Ms. Mary Lee Rice was born February 23, 1935 to the late Mr. Lawrence and Mrs. Georgia J. Rice in Georgetown, Georgia. Her education was received from the Quitman County School System. On September 5, 1953 she married her husband Mr. Nathaniel Jarrell, Sr. and 10 children were born to this union. Her spiritual journey began early in life, sitting under the guidance of the late Reverend O.B. Brinson at Green Grove Baptist Church. She moved to Clewiston, Florida before settling and making her home in South Bay, Florida in 1959 moving from Pigeon Quarter to their current home. She joined Mt. Calvary First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Edwin Coffie and Roosevelt Cooper and current Reverend Lawrence Epps. She accepted Christ and was baptized, believing that He would forgive her sins. She was a great cook. Some of her specialties that will be missed will be her famous Peach Cobbler, Turkey Dressing, Greens, Cubed Steak, Gravy and Biscuits and a whole lot more. She would feed anyone and also her cats, who sometimes ate more than she did! On Monday, December 2, 2019 at 8:30 a.m., God sent his angel to her home and she peacefully transitioned to her Heavenly Home surrounded by her loving family.
