Mary Louise Dunnon was born June 2, 1936 in Calton, Mississippi. She was a loving daughter to her late Mother Louise Johnson and late father Lester Johnson. Mary was a caring and nurturing sister to her eleven siblings (the late Eva Mae Gibson, the late Hattie Mae Ware, the late Linda G Johnson, the late Ida Bell Johnson, the late Essie Lee Johnson, the late Walter Johnson, the late Roy Johnson, the late Cooter Johnson, the late Lester Johnson Jr., the late Willie R Johnson, Sam Johnson (Andrea) and Joe Johnson.) She mothered seven children of her own (the late Betty Jean Johnson, Ernestine J Branch, the late Janie Lee Johnson, Daryl Johnson (Shan), Danny Lee Johnson (Stacy Johnson), Carlota D Dunnon, and Alsenea Dunnon (Kiki).) After having her oldest children she moved down to Florida and started a new life with her late husband Alfonso Dunnon. In 1978, she married the late Alphonso Dunnon, Sr. She has over thirty grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

Mary was never too far from a church. She placed the Lord as the head of her life in the late 1970's under the leadership of Elder Eddie Willingham. She served the Lord faithfully without murmuring or complaining. Mother Dunnon was known for her quiet, simple and gentle spirit. Her favorite colors were black and white. She was an active member of the Church of God By Faith (Pillar Ground and Truth), she served on the usher board until it was time for her to pass the torch due to her health. She loved hearing the word of God and fell in love with the scripture that says, " Every good and perfect gift comes from God." (James 1:17) Her favorite songs of worship were "Bread of Heaven" and "Amazing Grace" for those songs brought her comfort and joy. She continued to serve the Lord under the leadership of Dr. Larry Lee until she was called home.

Mother Dunnon was blessed with a special gift of cooking. She was known for her delicious, old-fashioned, home-made caramel cake. As much as she enjoyed the kitchen, she also loved the outdoors. Mary went fishing very often with her daughter (Kiki), grandchildren and neighbors (Gloria and Otis White, who she considered her kids as well.) She enjoyed shopping and buying things for her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made sure that all of her family was taken care of and did not want for anything. Mary also enjoyed having long talks with her last living friend Mother Moore, who became more than just a friend but a sister. She is now reunited with her parents, her two daughters (the late Betty Jean Johnson and the late Janie Lee Johnson) and friends (the late Rossetta Coffee, the late Mattie Pitman, the late Ruby Pittman, the late Ada W. Williams, the late Freddie Mae Baker and the late Francis Anderson.)
