Jan 22, 1957 — Oct 10, 2024
Clewiston
To be sublime is to be exalted, noble, Having Awe- inspiring beauty or grandeur. Synonyms: to be glorious, splendid, superb, respendent, gorgeous.
Marion McKenzie has always been a woman that was sublime and had class. She was a very intellectual individual. Marion was educated in the Palm Beach County School system where she graduated from Glades Central Community High School. Next was college in Alabama where she majored in sociology, psychology, and minor in political science at Stillman College (1978). She also governed herself in the NAACP, later she obtained her cosmetology license. Marion always liked to see the beauty in everything, you could say she had a very creative and artistic point of view. Marion taught individuals to be very structured and disciplined, she taught us how to be presentable and to carry ourselves in a respectable manner. Marion educated others very much on our African culture to help appreciate the strength of our ancestors. Marion Denise McKenzie "Niecy" made a great impact on our community and her family, by planting seeds of love and support to everyone's needs. If I had to pick an icon to describe Marion, it would be "Mother Earth" Marion was like the roots of an oak tree planted deep in our hearts to help keep us grounded and strong.
Marion Denise McKenzie was born to Verdell Robbie McKenzie and Louis McKenzie who preceded her in death. Stepmother: Mary Jane McKenzie; three brothers: Louis McKenzie (Thelma), Thomas Horace and Rontray McKenzie; five sisters: Mary Franklin (James- deceased), Darlene Carty (deceased), Dr. Genevia Boyd, Debra Willis (Michael) and Nicole Horace. She had two children: Sametria Nevada Barron and Kenneth Robert McKenzie, 15 grandchildren, god daughters: Terelle Reddick, Kimberly Watson; special friends: Erma Brown, Deloris Williams, Lovely Dixon, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
