Obituary

Marie Carol Rousseau Brown was born to Marie Citeé Daniel and Guy Rousseau in Léogâne, Haiti on April 19, 1965, the youngest of five children born to her mother. Her formative years were spent in Haiti, but she immigrated to New York with her father at 12 years old. At the age of 15, she migrated to Belle Glade, Florida where she became a member of the family of Dorothene Walker, her adoptive mother. She later became an American citizen and took her duties seriously, always remembering to vote.

Marie accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of St. Matthew Missionary Church under the pastorship of Rev. Willie Lawrence.

Marie was educated in the school district of Palm Beach Country and in New York. Although she had many stumbling blocks in her formal education, she persevered and graduated with her high school diploma from Prospect Heights High School in Brooklyn, New York at age 22. She was a bright star in the State of Florida's child protection system and became an employee of the Department of Children and Families as well as a foster and adoptive parent.

She never forgot her roots and loved her native country. She started a charity, "Marie's Hope For Haiti," providing donated clothing, food, and supplies to those in need in her native country. This she did for over 30 years.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Guy Rousseau and Marie Citeé Daniel, three brothers, Jean Lesley Daniel, Steve Rousseau, Guy Rousseau Jr., as well as one sister, Marie Dadi Daniel. She leaves to mourn four children, Arrielle L. Brown, Jeremiah B. Brown, Jadon P. Brown, and Arrianna S. Brown; a heartbroken mother, Dorothene Walker; twelve sisters, Marie Yanick Daniel, Marie Jose Daniel, Wendy D.
