Mamie Lee Ferguson departed this life on Sunday, June 19th, 2016 at Palm West Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida, after a brief illness.
Mamie Lee Ferguson was born October 6, 1931 to the late Jack Ferguson and Mary Jane Peay-Ferguson in Kershaw County, South Carolina. She was the only girl of seven children. All her sibling preceded her in death.
Aunt Mamie received Christ at an early age at St. Stephen Baptist Church in Boykin, South Carolina. Here in Belle Glade, she attended New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Mamie was educated in the public schools of Kershaw County.
All the children of her neighbourhood loved her, because she was friendly and loving towards them.
Aunt Mamie worked in Ft. Lauderdale, Miami and Belle Glade, Florida during the years she live there.
Aunt Mamie was preceded by her life long friend Earl Harrell in death.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory and celebrate her home going 1 daughter whom she raised, Hester Harrell; a hosts of nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, nephews and great great great nieces and nephews, too many to name or count. A host of family and friends, also she was an adopted mother to Tonya and Jewel Bennett, who was well respected as her family.
