Obituary

BIRTH: Lucinda Hawkins was born on December 15, 1943, to the parents of Johnny Weaver and Pearl Dublin Weaver.

EDUCATION: Lucinda attended the Palm Beach County Schools System and while enrolled at Lake Shore High School in Belle Glade, FL she became a member of the basketball team and was a phenomenal player. She graduated from Lake Shore High School "Home of the Bobcats" with the class of 1962.

MARRIAGE: Lucinda was united in Holy Matrimony in the state of New York to Earl Hawkins on September 22, 1963.
LIFE: Lucinda moved to the Glades area in 1946 and worked in the agricultural arena until her retirement.  She was a resident of South Bay, FL for over 50 years.

HOBBIES: She was an avid fisherwoman until her physical condition prevented her from engaging in her beloved hobby. She also loved and was a dynamic cook. People often sought her out and placed special requests for their favorite dishes, especially her collard greens.

CHRISTIAN EXPERIENCE: Mother Lucinda Hawkins was a faithful member of Mount Calvary First Baptist Church for 30 years. She was appointed as a Church Mother by Dr. Bing and she was very excited and proud of this appointment. She attended church faithfully until her health decline prevented her attendance.

PERSONAL FRIENDS: She enjoyed close friendships with Jannie Rutledge and Frances O'Neal. They would often attend the City of South Bay Senior Citizen Center.

TRANSITION: March 22, 2024. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15

She leaves to cherish her memory  CHILDREN: Earl Hawkins, Jr. (South Bay, FL), Angela Annette Hawkins proceeds her in death. GRANDCHILDREN: Kerthatis Lovely, Tallahassee, FL, Angelika Hawkins, Le'Kerria Ford, South Bay, FL; Tchanavia Marshall, Tampa, FL; Jasmine (Clifford) Stone, Wesley Chapel. FL; Taheerah Hawkins, Tampa, FL. GREAT GRAND CHILDREN: Olivia Lovely, Kerthatis Lovely, Jr., Bryce Stone, Lauren Stone, Autumn Stone, and Peyton Pickett. SIBLINGS: Margaret Guilford, Johnny Weaver, and Catherine Wilder; Pearlean Weaver proceeds her in death. Following the transit of her daughter, Net, Lucinda continued to have influence and impact on Net's three friends and considers them as her children: Janice Osborne, Natrinelle Edwards, and Cenella (Bay) Allen-Lewis. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
