Our dear Lucille (Aunt Luc) was born to Aaron Tomlinson and Ethlyn Webster, in Barneyside District, Westmoreland, Jamaica on February 28, 1938. She spent her childhood in Barneyside, where she attended school and later became a skilled dressmaker. Encouraged by a local teacher, she returned to school and passed a number of Jamaica School Certificate (JSC) subjects which qualified her to be a school teacher.

She began her teaching career at New Castle All Age School in Westmoreland, then transferred to Barneyside All Age School so she could be with her family. To further develop her potential, she continued her educational pursuits through weekend and summer classes in the Jamaican In Service Teachers Educational Training (ISTET) program.

In 1976, after about six years of teaching, she entered into a marital union with Gladstone Morris. In 1977, she immigrated to settle with him in Belle Glade, Florida. Unable to teach in the United States with only her credentials received in Jamaica, she worked tirelessly at various odd jobs to support her children while attending night school. Through perseverance, she earned an associate's degree from Palm Beach Community College. She worked as a substitute teacher for a number of years until she landed a permanent position as a teacher's assistant at an alternative school in Pahokee, Florida. Teaching was her passion and her calling, but poor health forced her into early retirement in 2002. She then occupied herself by serving her family, her friends, and her church.

Aunt Luc was a committed member of the Seventh Day Church of God International Ministries in Belle Glade for many years where she faithfully served her church in many capacities.  She had a passion for working to meet the needs of the less fortunate.

In the words of the apostle Paul, she fought the good fight and finished her race on Saturday,

November 17, 2018, when after a sweet time of family praise and worship of our Lord, she breathed her last breath. She kept the faith as an excellent steward of the gifts and abilities God bestowed upon her. She left behind a rich legacy of Christian values to be prolonged through the lives of all whom she touched while she lived.

She is survived by her children: Monica, Castro (Denise), Steve (Leita), Caulean (Christopher), Mauvalin, Dave (Chetlana), and Pauline, sisters, a brother, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be truly missed.
