Lorenzo Chatman was born September 12, 1951 to the late Hartwell and Emmie Kate Chatman in Sparta, Georgia. Lorenzo went home to be with the Lord on July 25, 2017, with his family by his side.  He was married to Emma S. Chatman on August 13, 1978. Lorenzo attended Lake Shore Jr/ Sr High School, Class of 1969. He was employed with Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida for over 38 years. He retired in 2014.

Lorenzo was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church where he participated in the Men's Choir. He loved his wife and family. Lorenzo enjoyed spending time with his family, singing, telling jokes and playing his bongos.

Unforgettable memories will cherished forever by his (9) children: Lorenzo Chatman Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL, Kimberly Chatman of Atlanta, GA, Marla Carlisle of Nacross, GA, Sonya Chatman-Nixon (Purvis), Marvin Chatman both of Belle Glade, FL, Jentle Chatman of Coconut Creek, FL Terrence Chatman, Cartavious Chatman, Kartisha Chatman all of Belle Glade, FL; two daughters of his heart: Jalanda Toombs and Jolema Dixon; Lorenzo was the second of three siblings including McKinsey Chatman (Agnes) of Belle Glade, FL; Frances C. Edgecomb (Earl) of Port St. Lucie, FL. He loved his brother and sister dearly and nothing he would not do for them. His brother-in-laws: Gleen Squirrell (Beatrice), Francis Green (Tiffany) both of Baltimore, MD; sister-in-laws: Sheila Squirrell (deceased); his grandchildren: Robert Carlisle, Ron'kevious Tarver, Ciara Carlisle, Purvis Nixon Jr., Sonja Richardson, Fabrianna Nation, Ron'Quavioun Tarver, Lornzo Chatman III, Keonah Carlisle, Shaniya Nixon, Janyah Mayo, Ayanni Nixon, Lanarri Richie; great grandchildren: Jayla Tyler (deceased), Jaida Tarver, Nazierre Carlisle, Terrico Vinson, Zyla Carlisle, Indeon Crosby and Bri'Niya Chatman; his favorite cousin: Naomia Jones (deceased);  (1) niece: Michelle Houston (Juan); (2) nephews: Desmond C. Edgecomb, Ronald A. Edgecomb, McKinsey Chatman (deceased); special friends: Izear "Peter Rabbit" Barber and John Cobb and a host of rlatives and friends.
