Leonia
Haffenden
Mar 23, 1930 — Jul 19, 2022
South Bay
"Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow."
Her Life Story
Life Story : The passing of Leonia (Tu Lue) Haffenden on July 19th has called us together today. There is no death an angel from walks o'er the earth with silent tread and bears our loved ones away and then we call them dead. But they are ever near us, though unseen. Their dear immortal spirit's tread. For all their boundless universe is life there is no death. The giver just takes back his loved ones unto himself, after they have wrought such beautiful pattern during their sojourn here.
Born : Leonia was born on March 23, 1930, in Midville, Georgia to Mrs. Ada Benjamin and father Kary Williams. She accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized at St. John Baptist Church in Midville, GA. She moved to Belle Glade in 1954.
Education : She attended school in Midville, Ga.
Employment : Leonia was a migrant worker for many years until her retirement. Belle Glade is the Winter Vegetable Capitol of the Word, and many people migrated here in the fifties, etc. for a better life for their families. Leonia (Tu Lue) was no exception. She loved her family with all her heart. When any family member was ill, she cared for them. Yes, she was a caring family member. Nothing was too good for her family. Leonia (Tu Lue) traveled many distances to take care of her family members, even if it meant a hardship to her. God is Love, Leonia was Love. Love is an action word. We must show it, and that she did.
Dearly Departed : What a great reunion it must have been as Leonia crossed the River of Jordan to be met by her loved ones that preceded her in death. They included her children Ada Walker, Mose Benniefield and Henry Benniefield; nephews she raised as her own, Jonathan Williams and Willie James Williams; grandson, Thurlynne Benniefield Sr and several sisters and brothers.
Cherished memories
: Leonia (Tu Lue) leaves to mourn her earthly departure, her loving and caring daughters, Rose Benniefield of Belle Glade, Margaret Bronson (Ft. Lauderdale), Mozelle Rolle (Jacksonville) and Chlorise Harden of Belle Glade; Son:
Lloyd Haffenden (Maria) of Ft. Lauderdale; Sister, Naomi Sam (Hollywood, FL); Grandchildren, Ashaki Bronson-Marcellus (Angelo) Ft. Lauderdale, Nicholas Rolle (Arizona), Felicia Rolle (Jacksonville), Michael Key (Atlanta) Keisha Warren (West Palm Beach), Lorrel Haffenden and Camellia Haffenden, both of Ft. Lauderdale: Great grandchildren Thurlynne Benniefield, Jr. (Belle Glade), Xhila Benniefield (Lake Worth), Jordan Marcellus (Ft. Lauderdale). Many other great grandchildren, God children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will also miss her.
