A Time to be Born

Lela Mae Robinson Handy was born August 10, 1937 in Belzoni, Mississippi.  The family moved to Pahokee when she was just 4 months old.

A Time to Grow and Learn

"Pete" as she was affectionately known received her formal education in the Palm Beach County School System.

She joined Beulah Baptist Church under the leadership of the Reverend Eulis Wright.

She married the love of her life, Mr. Orzie Handy in 1982.

Journey to the Great Beyond

"Pete" transitioned to life everlasting Sunday, July 29th at Lakeside Nursing Home ((West Palm Beach). She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Delanie; her daughter, Delores Doea and step-daughter, Angela Handy; and brother, Billy Robinson.

Fond memories of her will forever be cherished by her loving husband, Orzie Handy; sister, Lestine Torres; granddaughter, Lakeisha Drayton; and special friend, Mamie McWilliams.
