L.C. (Rasheed) Horace, Jr's paternal genealogy begins with Harriet (Hag) Chambers, (an Alabama slave from Russel County) who begot Alexander Patrick, who begot Rosie Lee Patrick Horace, who begot L.c. Horace, Jr. who was born on April 6, 1957, to the union of L.C. and Elmer Horace in Clewiston, Florida. He passed away at 2:00 a.m., Friday morning on November 24, 2023 in Orlando, Florida.

He attended schools in Clewiston, Florida and Salem, New Jersey. At ten years old he loved to dance before a crowd imitating James Brown. They paid him well. He returned to Florida and worked at Shawnee Farms for a short while. He worked for 18 years with the Orlando Regional Medical Center as a floor supervisor in Orlando, Florida.

Early in his life L.C. had a deep appreciation for the Nation of Islam and changed his name to Rasheed. He sometimes submitted himself to practicing many of their rituals. He enjoyed wearing his Muslim hat and hanging with friends.

Rasheed leaves to mourn his passing, two daughters and two sons, Akeyia Watts (Tampa, FL), Maryum Horace (Pennsgrove, NJ), Jamel Horace (Pennsgrove, NJ), Jamal Gear (Atlanta, GA). Siblings, Willie Lee Thompson (Angelo-Deceased) (Clewiston, FL), Edna Mae Kincade (Bryan) (Florissant, MO), Tommy J. Horace (West Palm Beach, FL), Andrew Horace (Orlando, FL), Turner Horace (Clewiston, FL), Jerome Horace (Orlando, FL), Ann Marie Horace (Clewiston, FL), Dorothy Huggins (Pahokee, FL), Tekelia Horace (Gainesville, FL), Salome Cooper (Delaware). Grandchildren, Kyla Jones, Kaden Jones, Tyiaja Horace, Jaiden Horace, Jashant Horace, Jameel Horace, Ijameelyonna Horace. Great grandchild, Destiny Horace. Sadly missed by three aunts, Lula Mae Jackson (Hatchechubee, AL), Carrie Mae Sirmans (Clewiston, FL), and Mary Jane McKenzie (Clewiston, FL). Favorite cousin, Shelly Washington. Rasheed was loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
