John W. Thomas known as "West" to family and friends earthly sojourn began on June 29, 1961 to the late Vancy Lene Hayes Thomas and D.C. Thomas in Cordele, Georgia .

West was educated in the Palm Beach County School District. He attended Glades Central Community High School. He was employed as a migrant worker for many years. West enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On Thursday January 9, 2020 James W. Thomas transitioned to his eternal home. He's preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Geneva, Laura, and Mary Ann; three brothers: Charles, Johathan and Anthony; two nephews: William, Jr. and Herschel Thomas; and one great nephew: Layton;
John W. Thomas leaves to cherish his memory, five brothers: William C. Thomas of Miami, FL, Lonnie Thomas of South Ozone Park, NY, Herbert Thomas, Michael Thomas of Belle Glade, FL; and Terry Thomas of Atlanta, GA a host of other relatives and friends.
