John Wesley Burden Sr. brought light into the lives of Leola Johnson and Simmie Burden when he was born on August 14, 1941 in Dixie, Georgia as their oldest son. John's father, mother, and younger brother R.C. Burden preceded him in death.

John moved to Clewiston, Florida in 1962 and not only did he find employment but he found the love of his life when he laid eyes on Voncille. He retired from the Sugar Industry in the late 1980s and became an entrepreneur owning a trucking company.

John dedicated his life to Christ at an early age. He became a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist church and served as a member of the Trustee Board.

On December 22, 2023, at 12:10 pm John took his leave from his earthly home to transition to his heavenly home.

John leaves loving memories for his love ones and friends to cherish forever. John's loyal and devoted wife, Mrs. Voncille Burden of 58 years share seven wonderful children. Two daughters Lisa Burden and Gleneva McQueen preceded him in death. John Wesley Burden, Jr.(Kendra), Fr. Lauderdale, Florida, Sondra Burden, Clewiston, Florida, Joseph William, Sr. (Patricia), Clewiston, Florida, Aaron Williams, Sr. (Evelyn), Cape Coral, Florida and Karen Johnson, Clewiston, Florida. He also leaves Ma-Ma, Shi-Boo, 25 grand and great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember his kind and loving spirit.
