Jerry Alonzo Campbell
Jerry Alonzo Campbell was born on April 26,1951, to the late Fannie Louise Smyre and James Lassie Campbell of North Carolina. Jerry was raised by his grandfather, the late Albert Smyre of North Carolina. He later moved to Belle Glade, Florida, in the early 1960s and enjoyed many years living in Royal Building with family and dear friends. Jerry attended Lake Shore Junior-Senior High School and was a member of the Class of 1969. Jerry was a hard worker and did farm work in Bainbridge, Georgia, and was also employed by A Duda & Sons.
Jerry was preceded in death by his loving mother, Fannie Louise Smyre; father, James Lassie Campbell; grandfather, Albert Smyre; and brother, 1st Sergeant James R. Smyre.
Jerry was full of love and life. He was never a stranger to anyone that he came across. Jerry was always joking and had a nickname for everybody that he met. His passion was cooking and he fed anybody that wanted something to eat. His favorite pastimes were watching cowboy movies, hunting shows, fishing, and babysitting his grandkids. He loved his family more than anything and he will be forever missed.
On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, Jerry departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest with his heavenly father.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving daughter, "the apple of his eye and his everything," Tiffany Campbell-McGrew; his favorite son-in-law, Marvin McGrew of Port St. Lucie; his daughter Quarshell McDonald of Belle Glade, FL; 3 sons: Jerry Rashard Campbell of Tampa, FL; Alonzo Vereen of Washington, D.C. and Jerry Dupre of North Carolina; 2 sisters: Mae Campbell-Harrison (Norman-special caregiver); Jessie Dot-Campbell of Belle Glade, FL.; 1 brother, Joseph Smyre of North Carolina; a special grandson, Kelvin Taylor; grandson Malik Davis; a special granddaughter, Goldiyah McGrew; granddaughters LaChazz Campbell, Jaylah Hines (Jakobe), Erneshia Butler and Mackerria Davis; 2 great-great grandsons: Rashard Martin Jr. and Jakobe Hines Jr.; 1 sister-in-law, Robin Smyre of Alabama; a special niece, Tawania Williams (Livell); a special nephew, Tavis Campbell (Belinda); a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends: Hayward Campbell, Johnny Webbs, Tyrone Jenkins, Susie Warren, and Kesha McGowan.
