James Henry Willingham Sr.
1948-2024

A Time To Be Born:
On May 24, 1948, James Henry Willingham Sr. was born in Pelham, Georgia to the late J.B. and Mattie P. Willingham.

A Time To Live:
Deacon James Willingham Sr. moved to Florida in 1962 at the tender age of 15 years of age. He attended Lake Shore High School until 1968. He was loved by many for his charisma and caring heart. During his high school years, he met and married the love of his life, Ada Simpson Willingham on September 2, 1968, and the love remained for 55 years. After high school, James became employed at U.S. Sugar Corporation as a tractor driver and continued his career until his retirement in 1985. In 1995, Deacon Willingham dedicated his life to Christ and became a devoted member of Miracle by Faith Revival Center under the leadership of Bishop Berry Humphrey. After the passing of Bishop Humphrey, he served under the leadership of Pastor Albert Polk IV. He was an active choir member who loved to sing. The entire church as well as the community loved to hear him sing and he did so with love, touching the hearts of many.

A Time to Leave/Embrace:
On Wednesday January 17, 2024, a golden heart stopped beating. The Lord saw his servant getting tired and called him home. He is preceded in death by his parents J.B. & Mattie P. Willingham. Siblings; Larry Willingham, Andrew Willingham, Harvey Willingham Sr., J.B. Willingham Jr., Eddie Willingham Sr., and Joe Nathan Willingham Sr. One sister, Ada Mae Styles.

A Time To Mourn:
James leaves to continue his legacy and precious memories, his wife, Ada Simpson Willingham. Children: Sharon Salter (Harry), Sabrina Thomas (Gavin) of Belle Glade, FL, Glennette Willingham (Michael)  of West Palm Beach, FL, James Willingham (Katherine) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Cynthia M. Willingham, Janice Collins of Belle Glade, FL; God-daughters: Beverly Williams and De'Asia Northern; God-son: Quamane Williams; Siblings: Lorine Lott of Belle Glade, FL, Gloria Willingham of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Glenda Outler (Evan) of North Carolina, Jackie King (Willie) of Jacksonville FL, Shareon Williams of Melbourne, FL; One brother: Michael Willingham of South Carolina; Mother-in-law: Virginia Simpson; Sisters in-law; Bessie McGrew of South Bay, FL, Marie Raphael (Anthony) of North Carolina, Bernice Simpson of West Palm Beach, FL, and Ann Smiley of Atlanta; Brothers-in-law: Robert and Nathaniel Simpson of Canal Point, FL, Mitchell Simpson of West Palm Beach, FL, Clifford Simpson (Elaine) of Orlando, FL, Leneal Simpson (Tracy) of South Bay, FL, and Patrick Simpson (Bonita) of Tennessee; Aunts: Carrie (Lewis) Atlanta, GA and Pearl Morgan of Jacksonville, FL; Uncles: Bill Morgan of Albany, GA; James leaves behind 25 grandkids and 38 great grandkids. One special cousin, Freddie Fan and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends that will miss him dearly.
