Obituary

James Will Perkins Jr. was born to the late James Will Perkins Sr. and Ada Pearl Perkins on August 24, 1946, in Williamston, North Carolina.

He received his education in the local schools of Palm Beach County in Belle Glade, Florida.

He was faithful and dedicated to his profession as a foreman at US Sugar Corporation in Belle Glade, Florida. He had strong work ethics and knew the importance of his job and working hard.

He was previously married to Mary Lee Perkins (deceased) and from that union he leaves to cherish his memories his children Christine Jenkins (James), Sarah Pittman, Rosalind Johnson (Derek), Reverend Michelle Smith-Barton, Will Perkins Jr. (deceased), James Marland Perkins, Sha'Neatria Key (Calvin), a special daughter Ava Smith (Leonard) and a special son John Fifer.

He leaves to cherish his wife Gloria Perkins and his step-children Tony Sparkman, Tonya Robinson, and Cliford Jean.

His siblings include Bertha Lee Parrish (deceased), James Perkins Jr. (deceased), Mac Arthur Perkins (deceased), Bishop Charlie Perkins (deceased), Sudie Smith and Bishop Bobby Lewis Perkins. Two brothers-in-law Elder James Turner (Thelma) and Bobby Lee Turner.

He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.

He was a devoted Deacon at Greater Union Missionary Baptist Church, Inc., where he served for years under his Pastor Elder Dr. Charlie Ed Reese. He loved God and his church family.

He was dedicated to the Sons of Light Lodge #4, Belle Glade, Florida and he then transferred to Everglades Lodge #548 Clewiston, Florida.

He was a die-hard Miami Dolphins fan and a joy to be around. He loved his family and enjoyed spending quality time with his loved ones. His legacy of love will be cherished by his loving and devoted friends and community.
