We are here to celebrate the life of James Miller "Pops" as fondly known to some. James was one of 7 children born to Agatha Blackwood and John Miller, 5 sisters and 1 brother. James was born in Old Harbour, Jamaica. He left home at a tender age to make his way in life. During his life James turned his hand to whatever job he could find to make a living from (particularly) working with horses .
In 1950 James met his first love Pearline Davies and together they had 3 daughters Joanne, Fay and Beverley. They lived in Golden Spring, Jamaica. At the time James was working as a stable hand and later became a horse Trainer.
In 1956 James, having travelled to Florida to do seasonal work met Adell, whom he later married. Adell had one son Lester who James loved and brought up as his own child.
Sadly Adell passed away in 1982. James and Adell made their home in Belle Glade, Florida and this is where James continued to reside until his passing.
During his time in America he worked in various states and spent a short time working in Canada.
In 1976 James met Dorothy and they became good friends. He later became a Godfather to her daughter LaTonya whom he looked upon as a daughter.
In 1984 James met Pauline Moreland, and Pauline who had a young daughter Tocarra "Treasure" came to live with James.
James later adopted Treasure.
James leaves behind in England his 2 daughters Fay and Beverley, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He enjoyed meeting his family from England whenever they visited, and looked forward to seeing them and spending time with them.
In America, James leaves behind 1 son Lester, 1 adopted daughter Tocarra, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A god daughter and her 2 beautiful daughters.
James was proud to see what every one of his children had been able to achieve in their lives.
The family would like to thank Cassandra "Shorty" and Tyrone for all the care they gave James in his latter days.
