Rev. Ivory Rich was born on November 27, 1948, to the late Willie James and Julia Scott in Union Springs, Alabama.

She graduated from Carver High School in 1968 and later pursued higher education at Palm Beach Community College. She continued her academic journey through the CLIMB program at Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Organizational Management in 2007.

Rev. Rich's spiritual foundation began at Wayman Chapel AME Church in Union Springs, Alabama. As an adult, she became a devoted member of New Bethel AME Church in Clewiston, Florida, where she faithfully served in many roles including choir member, church secretary, steward, Sunday school teacher, missionary, pastor's aide board member, and associate minister.

Her professional journey included many dedicated years of service with the Hendry County School System. A pillar in her community, Rev. Rich was a member of the Christian Women Fellowship of Harlem, active in the nursing home ministry, a regular visitor to the sick and shut-in, and participated in interchurch fellowships.

Her favorite scripture was Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

On March 9, 2025, Rev. Ivory Rich was welcomed with open arms by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her father Willie James, mother Julia Scott, husband Robert Rich, and brothers George Brown and Willie James Scott Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory two loving daughters, Phillis Henry and April Humphrey; her beloved grandchildren Karl Henry, Iralisha Mundle, Shayna (Joe) Cash, C'Errol (Jumone) Mundle, Edrica Flournah, and Erykah Flournah; and her precious great-grandchildren Irieanna, Brynks, Liberty, Loyalty, Iverson, and Princeton.

She is also survived by her siblings Mary Alice McMillan, Elizabeth Gachette, Mattie Harris, Minnie (Terrance) Thompkins, Shirley Scott, and Carron Cooper.

Rev. Rich's life and love extended to her special neighbors, the James Family; dear friends Robbie and Regina Gray; best friend since high school, Frances Smith; cherished friends Cleola Smith and Thelma Brown; her longtime family connection with the Johnnie Mae Holmes Family of Clewiston; and her special cousin, friend, and sister in Christ, Helen Boyd. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were blessed to be touched by her spirit.

Her legacy of faith, love, and service will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
