Obituary

On February 7th, 1928 on the beautiful island of Barbados in Charnocks, Christ Church Irvin was born to James Durant and Verona Callender. The family moved to Penny Hole, St Philip which was later renamed Gemswick.

Irvin received his education through the Barbados Educational system and worked as a mason. He also did contract work in the sugar plantations in Florida. He was married to Ruby Delcina Springer who preceded him in death in 1959.

He immigrated to New York in the 1980's; did not like the cold weather so Irvin moved to Pahokee, Florida where he worked as a tractor driver for Glades Farms. He was a member of New Destiny Community Church under the leadership of Bishop Jared Hines and served as a deacon. He was a very close friend of Georgia Campbell and Deacon Clark.

Irvin passed peacefully into his rest on December 7th 2016. He was preceded in death by two of his daughters - Eugene Callender-Farley and Ann Gibson.

Irvin is survived by daughter Marcia Callender- Rowe (New York). He has also leaves behind his fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
