Obituary

On Friday, September 11, 1953, a cool and breezy Fall Day, a bubbly baby boy was welcome by his parents the late Idella and Joe Small. He was the fourth of five children. He was named Henry after his late uncle Henry and Joe after his late father. On Tuesday November 15, 2022 at 12:05pm Henry was called from labor to reward.

Henry's mother Idella was a strong Christian woman and a firm believer in bringing her children to church and teaching them about the Lord. She started Henry on his Christian path and walk with God at a very early age.

Henry joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Ritta Village in the early 1960's under the Pastoral and Leadership of the late Rev. Floyd Keys. He renewed his membership at Mt. Olive under the Leadership of the late Rev. Eddie J. Walker.

Henry attended public schools in Palm Beach County. He ended his public education at Glades Central Community High School, Belle Glade, Florida where he played in the band. He served in the United States Army for seventeen (17) years. While serving his country he received his General Education Diploma (GED). After leaving the military Henry began to do what he loved and that was driving longline trucks. (I'm a Truck Driver!) He drove trucks until his health began to fail. In 2016 Henry relocated back to Texas to be with his beloved wife.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents: Idella and Joe Small, his Big Ma: Beatrice Small, his sons: Henry Joe Small, Jr. And Curtis (Mark) Harris, Sisters: Jeannette Graham and Josephine Brown, Nieces: Harriett (Mook) Williams and Jacqueline (Jackie) Relph, and Nephew: Reuben (Shaun) Relph.
