On a warm summer day, June 14, 1937, a handsome baby boy was born to the late Ms. Irene Sheriff in Fort Augusta, Jamaica.  She named him Henry Augusta Sheriff.

He migrated from Jamaica to the United States in 1975, where he began working with U. S. Sugar Corporation in Lake Harbor, Florida until his retirement in 2002. He later became employed with Walmart from 2007 until his health began to fail in 2015.

He accepted Christ as his personal Savior, March 8, 2014, at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Eddie James Walker.

God knew that Sheriff had completed his assignment on this side and decided to call him home.  His sister, Iris Sheriff, preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife, Elouise (affectionately known to him as "Weezie"); five daughters:  Maxine Sheriff-Campbell of Canada, Iris Sheriff-Lambert (Harold) of Belle Glade, KaShara Johnson, Charkita and Nikhiea Pugh of Clewiston; two sons: Cornelius Small of Clewiston, and Marcus Smith of Loxahatchee; one brother-in-law: Lorenzo Mitchell of Fort Myers; three sisters-in-law: Veronica Mitchell of West Palm Beach, Mae Bell and Christine Pugh of Clewiston; one granddaughter, Ashara Campbell of Canada; a special grandson, JaQuez Pugh of Clewiston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A special thanks to the staff of Hope Hospice; his son and daughters: Neil, Sharee, Peaches, and Pucy; his grandson: Quez; and his sisters-in-law: Mae Bell and Christine Pugh; who were all his caretakers.
