Hattie Belle Ellison Martin was born and raised in Orangeburg S.C. to the late Maggie L. Foley and Julius Ellison. Hattie and her family transitioned to Okeechobee FL in 1959 were she labored in the fields and did housekeeping until receiving a custodial position at Okeechobee High School. She attended IRCC with hopes of furthering her education.  Hattie dedicated her life to being a humble servant of the Lord at Mays Temple Worship Center. She was given the role of church mother due to her nurturing personality. In that position she aided in leading youth Sunday school, assisted with holiday presentations, after service beverages, and a plethora of other duties when asked by the late Pastor Elder Dan Jones.  On July 14 ^th 2021, Hattie was called to rejoin God in his heavenly kingdom. Though we are sad, due to her not being here with us physically; we can rejoice in knowing she has entered the Kingdom of Heaven and was supplied with a body with no mistakes/blemishes/or imperfections.  Her legacy will greatly be missed and remembered forever through Charles G. Rush (niece), Shawnta and Stacy Fisher (niece and nephew), great nieces/nephews and grandchildren: Cayuna, Alarra, Larry, Amaya, Marcus, Trye, Jordan, Mason, Jae'nari, Cameron, Xavior and Luka.
