Obituary

A Time To Be Born:
Geraldine was born April 18, 1939 tot the lade Feda Mae and Guy Weston in Havana, Florida.
A Time To Educate:
Geraldine received her early education at Rosenwald Elementary in South Bay, Florida.
A Time To Unite:
Geraldine met and United in Holy Matrimony to the late John Beckford in 1965.
A Time To Work:
She was employed by Holiday Inn in her early years and South Bay Growers. Geraldine and her husband became a business owner in Lake Harbor, Florida. Geraldine also worked for C.A. "Mutt" Thomas and family.  But she is mostly remembered as a mother to many. She was a great "Homemaker". She loved to cook, and she enjoyed working in her yard planting flowers etc. Geraldine truly had a green thumb. If she planted it, it was sure to grow.
A Time To Plant:
Lake Harbor, Florida was the early residence of the Beckford's, they also resided in Okeechobee Center "The Project" in Belle Glade, Florida and then they planted their family in  South Bay, Florida in 1975 until this present time.
A Time To Worship:
While Living in Lake Harbor, Florida. In her early years she attended Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Aaron Drayton. Later in life she joined Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Roosevelt Cooper. Sister Beckford loved the Lord, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Geraldine had the opportunity of moving to Convington, Ga for 2 years where she was under the pastoralship of Pastor Eric W. Lee at Springfield Baptist Church in Conyers, GA she then reunited back with Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of South Bay, under the leadership of Pastor Lawrence Epps her current pastor til her demise. While at Mt. Calvary Geraldine served on the usher board and was a very active member.
A Time To Rest:
Into each life a lil rain must fall it's with our family now because our mom name God has called. On January 29, 2020 Geraldine went from labor to reward. God sent his angels to her while at JFK Hospital.
She has several love ones that preceded her in death, her parents: Mr. and Mrs. Weston; her husband: John; son: Joey Howard; her siblings: sisters, Patricia Nelson and Virginia Foster; brothers: Leroy and Melvin Weston Sr. and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless his holy name, Geraldine leaves memories with, 4 daughters: Barbara Weston of Atlanta, GA, Brenda Wright of South Bay, FL, Kim Beckford of Orlando, FL, Stefanie Beckford of Belle Glade, FL; 3 sons: Gregory (Lydia) Beckford of West Palm Beach, FL, Christopher (Cassandra) Beckford of Columbus, GA, Jimmie Mills of Clewiston, FL; Siblings: Mary Ann Green of Rochester, NY, Jewell (Tony) London of Rex, GA, Cynthia (Otis) Sims of Stone Mountain, GA, Guy (Selena) Weston of Boca Raton, FL; A bonus daughter: Mary (Thomas) Stinson; aunts: Reatha Hall, Lorean Browning; Uncle: John Jr. all of Miami, FL; one sister-in-law: Dorothy Weston of Dawson, GA; a special friend: Verdell McKenzie; Geraldine also leaves memories with her 23 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
