George's Life Story

George Sandiford, born on November 18, 1953, in Gregg Farm, St. Andrew, Barbados WI, was the beloved son of the late Gouldborne and Mabel Sandiford. He received his early education at Turner Hall Primary School in Hillaby Barbados. In 1978, George migrated to Florida, where he built a life rooted in hard work, family, faith, and service to his community. George touched the lives of many through his willingness to lend a helping hand and his steadfast commitment to those he loved.

A devoted member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, he attended church life until his passing. His faith guided him, and his actions reflected the values he held dear. George will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy endures in the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.

A gifted and dedicated mechanic, George worked many years in his trade before establishing his own business, Fix It Right Auto & Diesel Repair proudly serving the Glades community. His skill, integrity, and dependable craftsmanship earned him the trust and respect of countless customers. Later in his career, he continued his service and commitment to excellence through his work with the Palm Beach County School District, Palm Tran Bus Service, and the City of South Bay. He remained devoted to his work until his retirement in 2021.

George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife and heartbeat, Loretta Sandiford, who faithfully stood by his side through every season of life.

He is also survived by his children: Natasha Hall, Devon Sandiford, and Shanell (Nevel) Seme; one stepdaughter, Lamica Towns; one grandson, John Johnson; and three step-grandchildren: Keyoshia, Lotoria, and Timothy Town, who preceded him in death earlier this year.

George leaves behind three sisters, Ester Smith Turner, Elsie Sandiford, and Margaret Sandiford, all of Barbados; four brothers, Clemmott Jemmott, Edwin (Grace) Sandiford of Barbados, Tyrone Jemmott, and Carl Sandiford, who also preceded him in death. He is lovingly remembered by his special niece, Roseann Vaughn of South Bay, four sisters-in-law: Rosetta Leggett, Jeanette (Willie) Fields, and Jackie Sanders; and three brothers-in-law: Lewis Sanders, Holsey (Phyllis) Sanders, and Horace Sanders of Vienna, GA., God Son: Anthony Green, Omar Sampson, Alijah Sosa (Primo), Amir Sanders. one God Daughter Amani Sanders. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Among his dearest friends are William Likely, Cullen Cromer, Glen Straker, Leroy Seal, Ned Baldwin, Edgar Kerr and Peter Skeete, who shared many meaningful moments, laughter, and memories with him over the years.
