"I am Blessed"

I, Elois Brown Atkins, would like to say thank you to all my family and friends who have come to celebrate,
by bidding me farewell on today - Wednesday, August 26 th , 2020. Ninety years (90 years) on the Muck, where
has the time gone? Yes, I've spent all of my life here, starting out in Sand Cut.
Most of my 90 years I've been a member here at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. I started out being a
member of the choir and later served as the No. 1 Choir President for many years, and a faithful member of the
Women's Mission Auxiliary. I also spent many years as a member of the Friendship Women's Club
I was blessed beyond measure as an employee with ADUDA & Sons; for over forty-years, I worked as a
foreman.

I was married to Mr. Willie James Atkins. Although it was brief, a special bond developed and exists between
our families.
Transitioning to Glory on Wednesday, August 19 th , 2020, was the best trip I've ever taken, no luggage, just a
new pair of wings. God took me by the hand and said, "Elois Brown Atkins it's time…. But before you rest,
look whose standing at the gate to greet you", - Maude and Willie Brown (my parents), my loving siblings, my
sister Lilian Brown who went to Glory in here teens, and brothers, Wilbert Brown and Willie Brown. I was the
last of their children to join them. Patricia Maude Brown, my only child was standing there calling my name out
loud "Lois", while waving. Pat preceded me in death on February 6, 2006. My niece, Barbara Ann and a host
of uncles and cousins came to join the homecoming celebration.
You know I am Blessed, I made it in!"
Family and friends I loved you all and I leave special memories to cherish to my granddaughter, grandson and
Godson, Inger Harvey (Othneil), Demetrius Brown (Rene), and Eric Williams (Lakia), My great grandchildren,
Vincent Cheves II, EljaJuan Brown, Demetrius Brown Jr., Demetria Brown, DaMisha Brown, Dominique Page,
Timothy and Tamaul Kyles, Antamika Jackson, Leporshae Jones and Kearon Brown. My nieces and nephews
(Wilbert and Willie's children in Miami Dade County). I also leave special memories to my dear sister-in-law,
Tina Brown who is 103 years old and dear friend, Dorothy Atkins and children, Patricia Atkins, Connie Atkins-
Collins, Ronald Atkins, Victor Atkins and the entire Atkins family.
Until we meet again, I leave all my love to all of you.
