Elijah's Life Story
On September 8, 1940 a handsome bouncing baby boy name Elijah Bouie was born to the parcentage of Les and Mattie Banks Bouie in Pahokee, Florida.
Elijah, know to family and friends as "Nanny Goat", a loveable, humble hearted person with an amazing personality.
On Saturday, April 9, 2016 Elijah quietly passed away; though he may be gone from this earth his memories and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of many lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his parents, Les Bouie and Mattie Bouie, two brothers, Eugene Scott, Les Bouie, Jr., his two sisters, Elizabeth Scott, Georgamae Chatman, and his son-in-law, Leslie Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Ruby Bouie; two daughters: Celeste Johnson, Barbara Bouie (Daniel); eight sons: Elijah Bouie, Jr., Morris Bouie (Lisa), Albert Bouie (Pat), Feddrick Bouie (Sheila), Derrick Bouie (Renea), Sylvester Bouie (Cynthia), Ventrell Bouie, Torey Bouie; fifty grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren; two brothers: Eddie Bouie, Lucias Bouie; his one sister: Deloris Bouie Logan; his two sister-in-laws: Mayola McClumman, Barbara Daughtry; four brother-in-law: Shelly Daughtry, Horace Daughtry, Logan, Sonny Chatman; one goddaughter: Tara Whyte; a loving nephew: Phillip Scott; special cousins: Elijah Bouie, Sonny; devoted friends: Bertha Gilmore, Bob, James Ferguson, Ronald Boldin, Henry Wilson, Charles McCloud, James Turner, Dewy Jackson, Margaret and Ken Strachan, Alma Sanders and her loving children Shonda, Thaddues and Fred, Jr., Rodney, Laquita Homels and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and loving friends.
